Raimundas Malasauskas (Lithuania/France)

Raimundas Malasauskas is a writer and curator based in Paris. From 1995 - 2006 he was Curator at CAC Vilnius, and co-produced CAC TV from 2004–06. More recently he has worked as a curator at Artists Space, New York, and is a founding member of John Fare Estate; an Associate Curator for the Kadist Foundation Paris and was a “comrade” for the Sydney Biennial 2007. Having worked with The File Room [http://www.thefileroom.org], and So-Called Records [http://www.socalledrecords.com], he once conducted a psychic interview with Fluxus founder George Maciunas (1934-1978).

As Raimundas describes himself: Malasauskas participates in various social events, including carnivals, business meetings, counselling sessions, dinners, and rehearsals. He investigates eventology, tele-action and con-art. He has conducted interviews with a range of people, including Seth Siegelaub, Rammelzee, Darius Miksys, and Tino Sehgal, and he has written about Missy Eliot, leisure, and time machines.

Raimundas Malasauskas visited Melbourne as part of Gertrude Contemporary's Visiting Curators Program, which is generously supported by the Victorian Government through Arts Victoria.
