In a world that needs art more than ever, the task of building long-term support for arts organisations has never been more important.

Australia’s leading arts incubator is looking for someone to help us flourish in the coming decades by deepening support and engagement across key audiences.

Development & Engagement Manager – Part-time (.6 FTE)

Gertrude is currently seeking applications for this exciting new role.

The Development & Engagement Manager will help secure a bright future for Gertrude by finding new and passionate supporters for the organisation, through the implementation of strategic fundraising initiatives and successful supporter and community engagement.

The 0.6 FTE role will support the Directors and Board to better connect with philanthropic foundations, high value donors and all tiers of Government to meet the organisation’s medium and long-term advocacy and capital fundraising goals.

Organisational Context

Founded in 1985, Gertrude is Melbourne’s longest continuously operating contemporary arts organisation and today is widely considered to be one of Australia’s leading incubators for contemporary visual art.

Sitting across two venues in Preston South and Collingwood, Gertrude features 16 artists’ studios and innovative exhibition spaces, meaning an equal emphasis on supporting the production and presentation of art.

Gertrude works with leading artists to develop artist-driven exhibitions as well as working with independent curators to produce innovative models of exhibition making. Gertrude is committed to supporting the production of new work and exhibition models and connecting these projects with broad public audiences.
