Benjamin Armstrong

Benjamin Armstrong was born in 1975 in Melbourne where he currently lives and works. Armstrong Graduated in 1996 from the Victorian College of the Arts. He works through a variety of mediums. Drawing forms the nucleus of his practice with printmaking and sculpture circling around it. Recent solo exhibitions include The shape of things to come, Tolarno Galleries, Melbourne, 2008; Benjamin Armstrong, Project space and spare room, RMIT, Melbourne, 2006; Gathering, Project space, RMIT, Melbourne, 2005; Drawings, TCB, Melbourne, 2002. He has also participated in various group exhibitions including A room inside,Ian Potter Museum of Art, Melbourne University, Melbourne, 2007; Before the body- Matter, Monash University Museum of Art, Melbourne, 2006-07; Primavera, Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, 2006; Benjamin Armstrong and Katherine Huang, Project space, RMIT, Melbourne, 2003. His work is in the collection of the British Museum, Prints and Drawing Department and the Monash University Museum of Art. He is Represented by Tolarno Galleries, Melbourne.
