Christian Capurro
2003 - 2004
Christian Capurro completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Printmaking) at the Victorian College of the Arts in 1995 and has since presented individual exhibitions including Another Misspent Portrait of Etienne de Silhouette, exhibited at various venues in Melbourne throughout 2004; from the Gorgonia series, Studio 12, Gertrude Contemporary Art Spaces, 2003; and at West Space, Melbourne 2000 and 1999; Stripp, Melbourne 1998 and Linden Gallery, Melbourne 1997.
He has participated in a number of group exhibitions including Cycle Tracks Will Abound in Utopia, Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Melbourne 2004; Capurro, Ellis, Hutchison and Parsons, 1st Floor, Melbourne, 2002; Raw Hin, Gallery Kobo Chika, Tokyo 1999; and the Geelong Acquisitive Print Prize, Geelong Art Gallery, 1997. He has been a recipient of a City of Yarra arts development grant in 2004, a Pat Corrigan Artist Grant in 1998 and the U.W.S. Macarthur National Printmedia Acquisitive Prize in 1996. Christian is a committee member of West Space Inc.; and has work in private collections in Australia, Japan, Europe and the USA.
