Elizabeth Newman

Elizabeth Newman (b.1962) has been making art since the 1980s. Her practice places questions of subjectivity in relation to social conditions and constructs, and incarnates intuitive acts based upon unconscious processes.

Newman has exhibited her work since the 1980s, both in Australia and overseas. Her work is included in major collections, including The Australian National Gallery (Canberra), Monash University Museum of Art, Heide Museum of Modern Art, Chartwell Collection (NZ), and private collections. Her next solo exhibition will be in November 2010 at Neon Parc gallery, and she will exhibit with artist Maria Cruz in Manila in November 2010. Elizabeth Newman is represented by Neon Parc (Melbourne).
