Louisa Bufardeci

Louisa Bufardeci is an artist, writer, researcher and educator based in Melbourne. Working across needlepoint, digital image making, drawing, installation and sculpture, her practice focuses upon transformative visual representations of data and statistics.
Bufardeci took part in the Gertrude Studio Program from 1999 - 2001. She has a Bachelor of Education (Visual Art), University of Melbourne (1991), Bachelor of Fine Art (Drawing), Victorian College of the Arts (1998), Master of Fine Art (Art and Technology), School of Art Institute of Chicago (2006) and completed her PhD Fine Art, Victorian College of the Arts in 2022. She has exhibited consistently since 1997, including shows at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, Museum of Contemporary Art (MOT), Tokyo and the Queensland Art Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane. Her work has been collected nationally and internationally. She currently teaches at the Victorian College of the Arts in the Master of Contemporary Art Program.
