Louise Paramor’s practice is concerned with the repurposing of industrial materials and objects to uncover new perceptions of everyday objects and built environments. Working in public art, sculpture and painting, Paramor draws upon Modernist concerns of form, scale, and materiality and Pop inspired uses of bold and playful colour to renegotiate relationships between mass production and consumption.
Paramor participated in the Gertrude Studio program from 1993-1995. She completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (painting) at Curtin University, Perth in 1985 and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Sculpture from the Victorian College of the Arts in 1988. She was the recipient of the McClelland Survey Award in 2010 for her work Top Shelf. In 2012 she received a permanent public sculptural commission for the Peninsula Link Freeway, producing the notable Panorama Station (2012). Her work is a part of major collections at the National Gallery of Victoria, Heide Museum of Modern Art, the Art Gallery of Western Australia and the Monash University Museum of Art. Recent shows include Palace of the Republic, NGV 2017, the 2026 Melbourne Sculpture Biennale and PLAYERS at Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf 2026. Paramor is represented by Void__Melbourne.
