Studio 12
200 Gertrude Street, FitzroyA hull constructed from the outside in amplifying sounds of its surrounding space utilised sound and construction as a means of transforming the context of a space. The work originated from a set of audio recordings taken of the floors, doors, and surrounding features within Gertrude Contemporary and, particularly, Studio 12. These sounds were amplified within a hull-like structure, creating a submersive environment which evoked being in the base of a ship out at sea.
